Weekend at the Lodge

Sophie has a new post-skunk haircut. They even trimmed her ears so she looks like she has a fashionable bob. So she has now been porcupined and skunked, and she treed a bear. What's left? Britt says, "Start over again at porcupines."

I kept Kady and Sasha apart, so there was no grumpiness. Kady and Sophie get along fine. When Sophie gets too beligerant, Kady rolls her over on her back, jumps on top of her and play-growls in her face, her little stump wagging the whole time.

There was only one Cujo incident and I saved myself by sticking the magazine I was reading in Sophie's mouth. She forgot all about biting me. At the start of a possible second incident, I yelled for Kady to help me, and she looked concerned but didn't come to my rescue. I guess she knew I wasn't really in danger.

Don't you love it when Rottis wag their little stump? I swear, Sheeba's goes round and round in circles rather than side-to-side!

How is dear Sheeba? Give her hugs from us!
Kady's little stumpy doesn't wag that much--I think it's because of her arthritis--but when it does, it's sooooo cute. Another odd thing about her; I have never ever seen the ruff on the back of her neck go up. Ever. Even on the rare occasion when she is mad at another dog.

Sometimes she will pretend she is still asleep, but I can tell she is just pretending because when I say good morning, her stump starts wiggling, and then she'll finally lift her head up and give me a smile.

My previous girls were quite the waggers. Greta was a very big girl (about 105 pounds and tall) and her whole hiney would sort of do a shimmy in slow motion. Inga, who was a little smaller (about 95 pounds) did the whole body wag.
