Bristlets

Blue Ridge Yarns Jubilee • color 19 Secret Garden• superwash Merino 400 yds
Here's the MC yarn for Britt's wristlets (Bristlets).  Blue RIdge Yarns is new to me, but it feels wonderful and squishy/springy as a nice sock yarn should.

The contrast yarn is yet to be determined.

Steve's Legs

I am still in love with Blue Faced Leicester, so when I found this lovely superwash it was an easy choice.

This will be the  Deathflake leggings for Steve. I knitted a little gauge swatch and have cast on the ribbing. It's wonderful to run through my fingers and it should wear very well.
A little progress.

Dec 30 blue star hat.
And this is what I came up with for the blue alpaca star. Koigu KPPM from the stash is knit in moss stitch with the main blue yarn in alternating rounds.

Some hats.

A tiny red hat in sock yarn.

The start of another star hat.

The first star hat. Meh.

Mitered squares and bobbles. Louet Gems with Koigu KPPM accents.
I wish I could remember what kind of yarn
this is. Sock yarn for sure, and I kind of think
I got it at the Sow's Ear.

Digital Swatching

Here's a way to keep track of projects in a digital archive.
When I knit a gauge swatch, I arrange the swatch, the band or other tag that identifies the yarn and a tape measure on my scanner and take a scan. I now have a digital record of that yarn. I can tag the document (which can be saved as a jpg or a pdf, or placed in a Word document) with keywords like the yarn's weight, color, gauge, the pattern it's intended for--anything I might want to sort my collection by later. I can  also print the document later and have a good record of the gauge (thanks to the tape measure). The only thing missing is the way the yarn feels.
